some of the statements made by the Artiste Bunji Garlin that suggests
there are unethical and questionable activities within the Music
Industry that has to be addressed. We admire his initiative in publicly

Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT) now in effect in Trinidad
and Tobago. December 1st 2008
For over a decade, RIATT has been lobbying for the
right for Producers and Performers to be paid whenever their recordings
are played over the radio or at a restaurant. This right to payment
could only have been exercised when Trinidad and Tobago became a
signatory to World Intellectual Property Organization Performances
and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT).

General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents
his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the
honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Republic
of Trinidad and Tobago, on August 28, 2008, of its instrument of
accession to the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty, adopted
at Geneva on December 20, 1996.
