Proof of Consultations

The Recording Industry Association Of Trinidad and Tobago (RIATT) is calling on the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs to provide the details of the consultations held for the construction of National Academy of the Performing Arts (NAPA).

The Ministry has claimed that the building of NAPA was not done in isolation and stakeholders were consulted; yet these stakeholders either do not recall attending or being asked to attend any consultations. In the interest of all concerned, the Ministry should disclose the minutes of these meetings to the media and the public an effort to put this matter to rest.

In addition to this, the consultation process should start from now for all future purpose built cultural facilities - especially the proposed Carnival Arts Centre.
