However different thresholds for "gold" are due to population differences in respective countries.

In the U.S. awarded by the RIAA as an album selling 500,000 copies.

In the U.K. awarded by the BPI as an album selling 100,000 copies.

In Canada awarded by the CRIA as an album selling 50,000 copies.

In Australia awarded by the ARIA as an album selling 35,000 copies.

In Trinidad and Tobago awarded by RIATT Gold will be an album selling 10,000 copies.
