Music Centre
The music industry of Trinidad and Tobago is moving
away from being labeled seasonal. More artists are releasing record
singles in various genres throughout the year rather than predominantly
at carnival time.
With the support of synergy TV, newly launched “Tempo” and selected
radio stations broadcasting primarily locally produced music, local
artists can now anticipate maximum media exposure, and as a result
a demand for their products created. Unfortunately, this demand
is met very timely by local music pirates.
The solution.
Our last resort is to go on the offence and create a product that
will now challenge the pirate’s illegal product in concept,
format and price.
Introduction of Music Cd Burning Station
It is a proven reality that music lovers find it economically irrational
to purchase an artist’s entire album for approx TT$110.00
to get one or two songs.
With the introduction of Burn a song technology, each customer
will have the ability to personally select individual music tracks
and then have selected tracks burned onto a Cd or transferred to
a portable device. Customers will also be able to purchase and download
local ring tones directly to their mobile phones. Payment can be
made via cash, credit card, or any form of debit card payment.
Objectives of this project
(1) To create the ultimate alternative to the pirated product.
(2) To educate the general public that only when an original product
is purchased the profits are then channeled back to songwriters,
music publishers, artists and record producers.
(3) To ensure that local songwriters, artistes and record producers
embrace the financial economic rewards from their creations. This
creates an incentive to continue to create and invest.
(4) By RIATT managing this project in a transparent manner, all
profits generated from this project will be distributed as follows;
(1)
Songwriters, and Music Publishers share go directly to (COTT)*
and (TTCO*)
(2)
Artistes and Record Producers share go directly to new organization
(ReRAPP)*
(3)
Balance of money will be reinvested into RIATT’s Research
& Development fund for future projects.
